Operating Room Tech / Surgical Technician/Operating Rm Tech

Job Summary Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician - Bakersfield, California. Supports invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures by preparing instruments, supplies, equipment, and sterile fields. Maintains patient safety and quality care throughout operative procedures while assisting the surgical team with room preparation, instrument handling, and turnover. Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts; 10-hour shifts; Monday through Friday with one variable day off; minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
• Associate degree or certificate of program completion in surgical technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification.
• Certification through a nationally recognized surgical technology certifying body.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant acute care experience.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Additional Information:
• Verifies procedures against consent forms and prepares the patient and operating room.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon and anticipates additional supply needs.
• Performs surgical counts before the procedure and before incision closure.
• Prepares, applies, and secures sterile dressings.
• Checks and obtains sterile and nonsterile supplies, equipment, medications, and solutions.
• Sets up sterile tables and assists with draping the sterile field.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists with room cleaning, turnover, and preparation for the next patient.
• Required vaccinations may be a condition of employment, with applicable medical and religious exemptions.
