Operating Room Tech / Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary Sterile Processing Tech position responsible for supervising daily operations within the Central Service Section during the day shift. The role coordinates personnel, maintains sterilization quality control, supports surgical instrumentation processes, and promotes safe, efficient department operations. The position also oversees quality assurance activities, policy development, and responses to sterilization system issues. Job Details

• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Certified Central Service Technician certification; five to seven years of Central Service Technician experience; competency in instrument and equipment decontamination, processing, and sterilization; leadership skills; and in-depth knowledge of asepsis and sterility principles with the ability to apply them in practice.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certified Operating Room Technologist certification.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Supervises and directs Central Service personnel, coordinates section activities, establishes assignments and short-term priorities, and ensures timely service delivery. Maintains surgical instrumentation processes in collaboration with Operating Room staff, surgeons, materials management, and clinical coordinators. Oversees department cleanliness, infection control policies and procedures, sterilization quality assurance, emergency protocols, equipment recall processes, instrument tracking, variance follow-up, root cause analysis, and practice improvements. Supports efforts to reduce department turnover time and maintains compliance with established standards.
