Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the Water Transmission business. Water Transmission is a multi-site manufacturing business serving the North American water market, an area of particular growth focus for CRH. This is a core financial planning and analysis role: you will own management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting across the business.

You will do more than produce numbers. You will explain what is driving results, constructively challenge performance and assumptions, and build financial understanding among operational and commercial colleagues. With the SAP implementation retiring the existing reporting suite, you will help design and shape what management reporting looks like rather than inherit an established set of packs.

Job Location

  • This position will be hybrid based in Atlanta, GA. This position will have travel to our Water Transmission manufacturing sites as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and build the new management reporting suite as part of the SAP implementation, defining the reports, hierarchies, and data structures the business needs so the output is fit for purpose from day one
  • Own the monthly management reporting pack for Water Transmission, delivering accurate and timely results with clear commentary on performance against budget, forecast, and prior year
  • Deliver corporate and Group reporting requirements accurately and on deadline, while reviewing and rationalizing recurring submissions so reporting effort stays proportionate to the value it adds
  • Lead monthly cost center reviews of fixed overhead, covering spend, headcount, and fixed cost movements against budget and forecast, and work with cost center owners to understand variances and agree corrective actions
  • Track and analyze key sales metrics, including average selling price (ASP), volume, and mix, producing price / volume / mix bridges by product line, customer, and region to explain movements in revenue and margin
  • Produce orderbook and backlog reporting covering intake, conversion, pricing trends, and forward visibility to support production planning and revenue phasing in the forecast
  • Analyze transport and freight performance, including cost per unit and per load, lane and carrier trends, and freight recovery against spend, identifying opportunities to protect net realization
  • Monitor external market and industry trends, including water infrastructure and construction demand indicators, raw material and freight indices, and competitor pricing and capacity, and assess performance relative to the wider market
  • Own the forecasting cycle for the business, including monthly and quarterly reforecasts, and coordinate the annual budget and medium-term planning process with business leaders
  • Partner with operational and commercial leaders to build strong financial understanding, translating financial results into clear insight for non-financial colleagues
  • Constructively challenge results, assumptions, and forecasts, validating data integrity and ensuring variances are understood rather than simply reported
  • Support ad hoc analysis, business cases, and projects for the Water Transmission leadership team, including investment appraisal and post-completion review

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA desirable
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, or business analysis, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to handle and manipulate large data sets using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and ERP reporting tools; SAP experience preferred
  • Experience presenting financial data as a clear, approachable story for non-financial colleagues
  • Confidence challenging data integrity and business results to ensure the accuracy and credibility of information
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage colleagues across functions, locations, and a variety of personalities
  • Self-driven, systematic, and organized, with the ability to prioritize workload and deliver to tight reporting deadlines
  • Strong commercial acumen and curiosity about the operational and market drivers behind the numbers
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of improving reporting and processes

What CRH Offers You

  • Highly competitive base pay
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs
  • Group retirement savings program
  • Health and wellness programs
  • An inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion
