The Lab Administrator owns the planning and allocation of Credo’s lab space. Most of this role’s time is spent planning lab expansions and deciding how lab space and ownership are allocated across teams. Reporting to the Apps Lab Supervisor, this position works directly with Facilities and company leadership, including the VP, on expansion requests, and trains and directs Lab Technicians I and II, who carry out day-to-day lab operations. The role is also responsible for keeping labs clean, organized, and compliant with ISO, EHS, and ESD requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, Customer-Service focused, and highly experienced in an electronics lab setting, with the judgment to balance competing needs across Engineering teams and keep the lab scalable as the business grows.
Base salary range is $95,000 - $100,000 an year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Responsibilities
- Lab Expansion & Space Planning: Lead lab expansion planning and execution, from requirements through bring-up. This includes working directly with the VP and Facilities on expansion requests, securing additional lab space, defining requirements for new labs (power, temperature control, air), planning for a walk-in chamber (specify type: thermal / environmental / other), and maintaining lab maps and future planning documents.
- Lab Ownership & Space Allocation: Decide how lab space and ownership are allocated across teams, balancing competing requests from Engineering groups. Maintain and update the allocation plan as teams and projects change, and resolve conflicts, escalating to the Apps Lab Supervisor or VP when needed.
- Team Leadership & Training: Direct, train, and review the work of Lab Technicians I and II, and develop SOPs and training materials. Provide input on hiring, performance reviews, and corrective action (confirm authority level), serve as occasional backup, and report regularly to the Apps Lab Supervisor.
- Safety, Compliance & Documentation: Be responsible for lab tidiness and organization to meet ISO standards, keeping labs audit-ready. Partner with the ESD and EHS Specialists to ensure all labs comply with their policies, and manage EHS, ESD, ISO, and SOP documentation.
- Lab Operations Oversight: Oversee, through Lab Technicians I and II, inventory, shipping and receiving, calibration and maintenance, trade show logistics, and JIRA asset tracking for high-value prototype hardware. Partner with IT on lab networking and computer systems, and act as the primary technical bridge between R&D engineers, vendors, safety officers, and operations teams.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience, with 5+ years in a high-tech or electronics lab, including experience training, leading, or mentoring other technicians.
- Planning & Facilities: Experience planning lab or facility space and allocating space and resources across multiple teams, with an understanding of lab requirements (electricity, air, temperature, and space) and experience coordinating build-outs or expansions with Facilities and vendors.
- Safety & Compliance: Advanced knowledge of ESD prevention protocols, hazardous materials handling, and local safety standards (e.g., OSHA), plus working knowledge of ISO lab standards. Experience with ISO, EHS, ESD, and SOP documentation is a plus.
- Technical & Asset Management: Working knowledge of IT software and hardware, diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters), and basic networking and switch racks, plus experience managing the lifecycle of confidential, pre-production, or high-value prototype hardware, ideally using JIRA.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills and a Customer Service mindset, with the ability to work across R&D, vendors, safety, operations, Facilities, and senior leadership, including the VP, and to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
