This is an environment unlike anything in the high-tech world and the secret of Costco’s success is its culture. However, your role as a leader within our organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team’s strategic vision and plan and ensuring that your team’s actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division.

The Manager of Platform Engineering & Developer Experience will lead the software development teams responsible for designing, building, and operating core platform software, internal developer tooling, and modern capabilities that enable engineering teams across our global retail operation. This crucial leadership role is focused on driving engineering velocity, reducing friction for feature teams, and building scalable shared services that simplify delivery across the enterprise. The manager will be tasked with establishing modern software engineering practices, accelerating platform adoption, embedding innovative tools (including AI-driven capabilities) into developer workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous delivery, automation, and engineering excellence. Success in this role requires a balanced blend of strategic vision, deep technical expertise in platform and software engineering, and proven leadership in developing world-class software development talent. As the primary conduit between your employees and upper leadership, your role in communicating and modeling the values and guiding principles of our company culture is of vital importance. All members of IT Management should strive to consciously and consistently foster a culture of engagement, trust, and “open door” communication.

If you want to be a part of one of the worldwide BEST companies “to work for”, simply apply and let your career be reimagined. ROLE
