Job Title: Project Manager – Engineered Control Valves Location: Houston, TX (on-site) Travel: Approximately 10–15%, domestic and international

About the Role:

A global manufacturer of severe-service flow control equipment is looking for a Project Manager to take full ownership of custom-engineered valve orders at its Houston plant. Each order is run as its own profit center. You’ll lead it from the moment the purchase order arrives through shipment, final billing and the end of the warranty period. You’ll be the customer’s main point of contact and will direct a cross-functional team to hit schedule, margin and contract commitments. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the single point of contact for customers on every project in your portfolio
  • Own results across the full project life cycle, keeping execution on schedule, technically compliant and profitable, and holding internal teams and customers to their commitments
  • Align engineering, quality, purchasing, production, shipping and accounting so orders ship on time and meet margin targets
  • Build strong working relationships with domestic and overseas clients through on-site visits, video calls and regular status updates
  • Resolve technical and commercial issues quickly, report progress on a set cadence, and negotiate change orders and contract amendments when scope shifts
  • Plan and lead team participation in pre-award reviews, kickoffs, progress meetings and post-project lessons-learned sessions
  • Trigger invoicing at each payment milestone and work with customers to clear late payments
  • Track and report project revenue, cost and gross margin forecasts; spot risks early and put mitigation plans in place
  • Evaluate supplier and sister-company quotes for engineered and purchased components against scope, quality, performance, price and lead time
  • Manage the document submittal and approval cycle so customer sign-offs come in on time
  • Schedule customer, third-party and regulatory inspections of finished and in-process equipment

What You Bring:

  • 2+ years of project engineering or project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year school; an engineering or other technical degree is preferred
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, QC, purchasing, manufacturing, estimating, billing and configuration control
  • Working knowledge of order administration, contract terms, US contract law and commercial negotiation
  • Background with custom-engineered, manufactured equipment, ideally nuclear-grade valves or process control products
  • General understanding of manufacturing methods and nondestructive examination (NDE) practices
  • Hands-on use of an ERP system, MS Project Professional, SharePoint and the rest of MS Office
  • Comfort with a CRM platform such as Salesforce or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel 10–15%, and some early or late calls with international customers

Nice to Have:

  • 2+ years in the valve, process control or a similar engineered-manufacturing industry
  • PMP certification
  • Hands-on exposure to nuclear industry requirements and quality expectations (ASME Section III, NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B)
