About the Appointment:
The social work program at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-eligible position to serve as faculty in our graduate and baccalaureate social work program. A master’s degree in social work and a doctoral degree in social work or related field (or significant progress) is required for a tenure-eligible position. Alternatively, a professionally prepared continuing position for candidates with a master’s degree in social work will also be considered. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience level. The position will begin August 2027.
The position involves teaching in both graduate and undergraduate programs, supporting students in advising, service to the college and community, and engaging in scholarly activities that promote professional growth and development. Our undergraduate program is primarily in person, during daytime hours. Our graduate program will be online, with some evening hours. Candidates should have the ability to teach social work courses across the social work curriculum, however candidates whose teaching, research, and/or other professional practice are specialized in the areas of substance use and addiction counseling, sports and performance, or aging services are preferred. Successful candidates will aspire to be part of a diverse community that affirms an abundance of identities, experiences, and perspectives to imagine, examine, and implement possibilities for individual and communal thriving inside and outside the social work program.
About the Department/Program:
The Concordia College social work program has offered a bachelor’s degree in social work for over 50 years and is in its second year offering a Master of Social Work degree with a clinical mental health concentration. Rooted in the mission “to prepare compassionate clinical social workers committed to evidence-based and culturally responsive practice to empower individual and community well-being in pursuit of a more just world,” this master’s program represents a vital addition to our commitment to social justice and community impact. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping this transformative program, helping to build a strong foundation for its future success.
In support of the College’s goals for diversity and inclusion, the social work program strongly encourages applications from colleagues with diverse backgrounds who will contribute to developing an increasingly diverse campus community and bring perspectives that are currently under-represented.
