Cafeteria Aide

Position Details Under the direction and supervision of a Cafeteria Manager incumbent will work at a high school, middle school or elementary school providing assistance to the Student Nutrition Services programs sponsored by the USDA's National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs and the California Department of Education. Essential Functions - Typical Duties Distribute, collect, and evaluate student application forms for families that wish to participate in the USDA's National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. Evaluate application for completeness and assist parents in completing the form. Follow-up with parents as necessary to obtain missing information on forms. Use guidelines to determine eligibility status and process meal applications. Count the number of meals served and makes sure student meals comply with Federal breakfast and lunch program standards. Input lunch program data into computer by using Windows software program. Perform cashier duties by collecting money from students, making change, and maintaining accurate records. Incumbent will be required to perform light kitchen duties such as cupping fruit, removing inventory from storerooms, and assembling sandwiches, cleaning tables during meal service. Assist school staff in maintaining safety and orderly student conduct during lunch breakfast and lunch breaks. Patrol the students eating and recreational areas until classroom activities resume. Supervise students as needed. Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience Equivalent to completion of the 10th grade. Application Procedures
