  • Perform and/or check civil and structural engineering calculations, designs, drawings, and specifications
  • Design and analyze substation foundations using project-specific geotechnical information for a variety of foundation types
  • Design and analyze equipment support structures and other structural systems utilized within substations
  • Develop and/or check civil site plans, including site grading, access roads, drainage, and soil erosion and sediment control
  • Perform and/or check substation bus analysis calculations
  • Develop and/or check oil containment designs and specifications
  • Prepare and review material specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations
  • Assemble, review, and approve engineering calculation packages and civil/structural design submittals
  • Apply knowledge of major substation equipment, equipment functions, and the drawings and documentation required to construct an electrical substation
  • Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, client requirements, internal standards, and engineering best practices
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers, including reviewing work and supporting their technical development
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges while maintaining project scope, schedule, and quality
  • Successfully lead and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Participate in client meetings and project coordination activities
  • Travel to client offices and project/job sites as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
