Internal Process Auditor & Trainer Reports To Quality Manager Full Time on Site

Position Summary The Internal Process Auditor & Trainer strengthens operational consistency, accuracy, compliance, and employee capability across operations. This role independently evaluates branch, warehouse, inventory, and delivery processes; identifies control gaps and improvement opportunities; and converts findings into practical training and sustainable standard work. The position is partnered with leaders and employees to improve performance without assuming ownership of the processes being audited. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform process audits: Develop risk-based audit schedules; review policies, transactions, records, system activity, and physical workflows; interview employees; observe work; and test adherence to approved procedures and internal controls.
  • Evaluate distribution operations: Assess processes including receiving, put-away, inventory accuracy, cycle counting, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
  • Document and communicate findings: Maintain objective workpapers, distinguish isolated errors from systemic issues, evaluate business impact, identify likely root causes, and issue clear audit reports with prioritized, practical recommendations.
  • Support corrective action: Partner with quality process owners to define action plans, accountable owners, and due dates; verify completion and effectiveness; escalate overdue or high-risk items appropriately; and track recurring trends.
  • Deliver training: Conduct any onboarding training assigned, train the trainer with any refresher, remedial, and change-management training using instructor-led, virtual, job-aid, and hands-on formats.
  • Maintain standard work: Help document specialist and process owners create and update procedures, checklists, job aids, process maps, and training materials so they reflect current systems, controls, safety requirements, and company practices.
  • Measure learning effectiveness: Use knowledge checks, observations, performance data, and follow-up reviews to evaluate retention, application, and business results; suggest revised training when outcomes do not meet expectations.
  • Analyze data and trends: Use ERP, warehouse, inventory, sales, purchasing, and delivery to identify exceptions, patterns, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Promote continuous improvement: Participate in root-cause analysis and process-improvement discussions while preserving auditor independence and management ownership of decisions.
  • Protect information: Handle employee, customer, vendor, pricing, financial, and audit information with discretion and in accordance with company policy.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in internal auditing, operational compliance, process improvement, distribution operations, employee training, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, warehousing, delivery, and branch operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather evidence, test controls, analyze data, identify root causes, and write clear, fact-based findings.
  • Experience developing and facilitating adult learning for employees with varying levels of experience and technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and business systems such as ERP, warehouse management, learning management, reporting, or business-intelligence tools.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to travel when needed and work effectively in office, warehouse, and branch environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, supply chain, operations, education, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience in electrical distribution, industrial distribution, wholesale, or a multi-branch environment.
  • Professional certification or training such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Lean/Six Sigma, or comparable credentials.
