Tutor ELL

Tutor, ELL Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience) Two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an Associate’s degree (or higher); or demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment (ParaPro Assessment) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, as appropriate and knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness as appropriate. Must be bilingual English/Spanish or English/ Creole/ French. Basic computer skills required (i.e., ability to use email, Excel and Word).

Special Notes Collier County Public Schools is seeking a Tutor, ELL to provide instructional support to English Language Learners under the direction of school administration and instructional staff. This position assists students in developing English language proficiency and academic skills, supports classroom instruction, and helps create a positive learning environment that promotes student success.

High school diploma and passing score on paraprofessional exam, or 60 college credit hours, or Associate's degree required. Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities Include:

-Providing academic and language support to ELL students individually and in small groups -Assisting teachers with instructional activities and classroom support -Monitoring student progress and encouraging engagement in learning -Supporting communication efforts with students and families when appropriate
