Original job description

Overview

At Coborn’s, Inc., we believe great pharmacy leadership is about more than running a successful business. It’s about caring for people, developing strong teams, serving our communities, and taking ownership in the work we do.

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Pharmacy District Manager to lead and support a portfolio of pharmacy locations. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the success of our pharmacy teams, strengthen the experience we provide our patients and guests, and help grow the future of pharmacy at Coborn’s.

And because we’re an employee-owned company, the work you do has an even greater meaning. When we succeed together, our employee owners share in that success.

What You’ll Do As our Pharmacy District Manager, you’ll provide hands-on leadership, strategic direction, and support to Pharmacy Managers and teams across multiple locations. You’ll serve as a trusted leader who balances operational excellence with exceptional patient care and a people-first approach.

  • Lead and inspire pharmacy teams across assigned locations, creating a positive, collaborative environment where Pharmacy Managers and team members feel supported, empowered, and connected.
  • Drive strong business performance by overseeing sales, profitability, labor, inventory, expenses, and key performance indicators while identifying opportunities for continued growth.
  • Coach and develop Pharmacy Managers and teams through regular site visits, one-on-one conversations, team meetings, training, mentorship, and meaningful performance feedback.
  • Champion exceptional patient and guest experiences by reinforcing friendly, knowledgeable, efficient service and helping teams build lasting relationships within the communities we serve.
  • Ensure safe, compliant pharmacy operations that meet applicable federal, state, and local laws, pharmacy regulations, company policies, and community pharmacy practice standards.
  • Promote patient safety and quality by providing oversight of prescription dispensing practices, pharmacy claims, third-party payer requirements, audit readiness, risk mitigation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Partner across the organization with Pharmacy Managers, Store Leaders, and other key business partners to successfully execute company initiatives and operational priorities.
  • Build strong, well-supported teams by helping lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, staffing, scheduling, time-off coordination, and coverage planning across pharmacy locations.
  • Look for what’s next by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen operations, introduce new services and partnerships, and support future pharmacy growth and expansion.
  • Live our values and ownership culture by leading with professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to the success of our people, patients, guests, and communities.

Why Coborn’s? At Coborn’s, you’re not simply joining a company. You’re becoming part of an employee-owned organization where your ideas, leadership, and contributions matter.

We’re proud of the relationships we build with our guests and communities, and we know those relationships start with great people. As Pharmacy District Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to influence multiple teams, develop future pharmacy leaders, improve how we serve our patients, and contribute directly to the continued success of our pharmacy business.

If you’re a pharmacy leader who loves developing people, creating great experiences, driving results, and making a difference, we’d love to have you bring your leadership and passion to Coborn’s. Come grow with us, lead with ownership, and help us shape what’s next for Coborn’s Pharmacy. What I changed: I condensed the original responsibilities into 10 broader, candidate-friendly priorities, pulled team leadership and patient impact forward, and wove employee ownership throughout rather than treating it as a standalone benefit. This keeps the operational and compliance expectations intact while making the opportunity feel more exciting, people-focused, and distinctly Coborn’s.

At Coborn’s, we’re committed to creating a supportive and rewarding workplace - one that offers a vibrant, team-oriented environment, ongoing career growth, and meaningful benefits.
