Elementary Social Worker

JOB TITLE: Elementary Social Worker WORK YEAR: 2026-2027 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Social Work license
• Strong Social Work background
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in an education setting

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide social and emotional support to students and families
• Help students establish attendance, academic, or behavior goals
• Liaison to local agencies for students, parents, and families
• Collaborates with principals, teachers, and other school personnel to improve use of existing school programs and procedures related to the education, social and emotional needs of children
• Provides assistance to teachers and principals regarding students with adjustment problems and assists in the development of student behavior management plans
• Maintains appropriate confidential records on each student referred
• Bill and log Medicaid

REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits per master contract based on experience and qualifications. Please see the current contract here.
