ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build end-to-end product features, including domain models, business logic, and API integrations.
  • Deliver incremental releases and iterate based on product and system performance.
  • Use SQL and analytics tools to assess product outcomes and system health.
  • Debug complex state machines in event-driven systems that use pub/sub messaging.
  • Ship code through CI/CD, own implementations through production, and help resolve incidents.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 3 years of experience building backend features for production systems.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka or Pub/Sub, including debugging complex workflows.
  • Relational database experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and code review.
  • Experience developing consumer-facing products and using SQL and analytics tools to evaluate performance.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and experience in a high-bar engineering environment, preferably including early-stage startup work.
  • Go and GCP experience are relevant; distributed systems experience is also useful.
