ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage legal technology team building AI-powered software for legal workflows. As a Founding Product Engineer, you will work closely with attorneys and AI engineers to develop core product capabilities and help establish engineering practices as the team grows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and own full-stack product features, from data models to interfaces used by attorneys and clients.
- Translate legal workflows and review playbooks into reliable, production-grade software with domain experts and AI engineers.
- Make pragmatic architecture and tooling decisions that support rapid development and future needs.
- Write maintainable code, improve reliability, and take responsibility for features in production.
- Help shape engineering standards, culture, and hiring as the team expands.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Three to four years of professional engineering experience, including experience building and shipping production software at an early-stage company or as a founder.
- Full-stack skills, including TypeScript and React, a modern backend stack, and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience building with AI or large language models, professionally or through personal projects.
- Experience owning features from conception through deployment, making sound engineering trade-offs, and building reliable systems for complex workflows.
- A completed computer science degree, strong product instincts, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity and minimal process.
- Experience with legal technology, contract management, document processing, or working directly with domain experts is helpful.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $140,000 to $180,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
