Original job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team building AI tools for industrial ingredient manufacturers. As an early engineering hire, you will work closely with the founding team and shape products that automate document-heavy workflows across the industry.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build backend systems to ingest and process documents from customer business systems and inboxes.
- Develop AI agents that complete complex compliance and food safety documentation.
- Own product features end to end, from backend services and infrastructure through frontend experiences.
- Ship quickly, learn from real user feedback, and adapt the product as customer needs evolve.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience as a founding engineer, founder/CTO, or one of the first engineers at an early-stage startup.
- Demonstrated 0-to-1 product ownership, including launching production products or major features used by real customers.
- Strong full-stack engineering range, including backend services, frontend product development, and relational database design.
- Experience with AI or LLM products, agents, retrieval, search, or automation, ideally in production.
- Relevant technologies include Kotlin and Spring Boot, React and Next.js, Postgres, and GCP. Experience with other languages or cloud platforms is welcome, and Kotlin is not required.
- Document processing, unstructured data, manufacturing, supply chain, or other industrial-domain experience is useful.
- No specific degree or years of experience are required. Evidence of shipped work, ownership, and strong engineering judgment is important.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $160,000 to $200,000 annually, plus equity. Visa sponsorship is not available.
LOCATION
