Schedule: Monday–Friday | Typically 6-hour shifts | Program hours vary between 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

As a Job Coach, you'll provide one-on-one support to adults with disabilities as they gain valuable work experience at local businesses throughout Orange County.

You'll be more than a supervisor. You'll be a teacher, mentor, and motivator, helping individuals develop workplace skills, build confidence, and achieve greater independence.

No experience? No problem! We provide paid training to help you feel confident and prepared for your role.

What Does a Job Coach Actually Do?

Every day brings opportunities to teach, encourage, and celebrate progress!

As a Job Coach, you will:

• Provide One-on-One Support: Work directly with an adult with a disability at their assigned internship or employment worksite.
• Teach Real-World Job Skills: Help participants learn and practice workplace responsibilities such as stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, assisting customers, maintaining clean work areas, and completing tasks specific to their assigned job.
• Build Independence: Encourage problem-solving, confidence, and the ability to complete tasks with less assistance over time.
• Promote Workplace Inclusion: Help participants develop positive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
• Motivate and Celebrate Progress: Recognize accomplishments, provide constructive feedback, and encourage participants to reach new goals.
• Support Professional Development: Teach workplace expectations, communication skills, appropriate social interactions, and professional presentation.
• Provide Transportation: Use your personal vehicle to transport assigned participants between designated locations as required.
• Document Progress: Complete daily progress documentation alongside participants when appropriate, encouraging their involvement in reviewing accomplishments, challenges, and goals.

A great Job Coach knows when to teach, when to encourage, and when to step back so a participant can demonstrate their independence.

At Clear Motivations, we celebrate progress, whether it's learning a new responsibility, building a relationship with a coworker, or completing a task independently for the first time.

We believe in empowering participants to develop their own abilities, rather than simply completing tasks for them.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

Imagine starting your day by picking up your assigned participant and heading to a local business such as a grocery store, retail shop, or other community workplace.

Throughout your shift, you'll guide your participant through their work responsibilities, demonstrate tasks when needed, encourage positive workplace interactions, and celebrate their progress.

You'll help participants develop valuable skills they can carry into their current or future employment opportunities and everyday life.

Before the end of your shift, you'll review the day's accomplishments, complete daily documentation with your participant, and transport them to their designated drop-off location.

This is an active, hands-on position in the community, not a traditional office or classroom job.

Requirements

✅ What We're Looking For

We're looking for individuals who are dependable, compassionate, professional, patient, and motivated to help others succeed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle and current auto insurance.
• Ability and willingness to transport participants to designated internship, employment, and community locations.
• Ability to stand or walk for approximately 4–6 hours and lift up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet applicable background screening and drug testing requirements, consistent with California law.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training.
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while following program guidelines and maintaining professional boundaries.

Experience in care giving, education, customer service, retail, or supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required.

Important: This Is a Community-Based Position

Although our administrative office is located in Anaheim, Job Coaches work directly with participants at businesses throughout Orange County.

We make every effort to assign Job Coaches to participants in or near their home communities. However, travel to different locations throughout Orange County may be required.

Applicants must be comfortable working independently in community settings and using their personal vehicles to transport participants.
