We strive to hire only ethical, talented, passionate and committed “A Players” who already align with the company’s core values: Drive, Delivering Excellence, Reputation, Responsibility, and a Better Future. No matter how large we grow, Citizant will retain its collaborative, supportive, small-company culture, where successful team effort to address external and internal customer challenges is valued above all else.

This position is for a near-term opportunity.

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and support the installation, configuration, monitoring, and patching of applications within USCP Windows environments. This role is vital in ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient delivery of enterprise applications, particularly within a law-enforcement-sensitive setting. The ideal candidate will bridge development and operations functions, leveraging modern tools and practices to enhance our operational capabilities and maintain high standards of security and performance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain applications and related services on Windows Server and Microsoft 365 platforms in accordance with USCP standards.
Implement and manage authentication and single sign-on (SSO) solutions using Entra (Azure AD), Active Directory, and related identity services.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to support deployment, configuration, monitoring, and patching activities.
Assist with the deployment and management of containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes as required for modern application delivery.
Monitor application and infrastructure health, performance, and security, and respond to alerts and incidents in coordination with EAMD teams.
Support patch management, system hardening, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to USCP security policies and federal regulations.
Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and business analysts to ensure applications are deployed, configured, and operated consistently across environments.
Document DevOps processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures and contribute to cross-training within the team.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

At least 5 years of relevant professional IT experience.
Specialized Experience: Hands-on experience supporting Windows-based application environments, identity and access management, and DevOps practices.
Local to the D.C. area

Technical Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure deployments.
Experience with Entra (Azure AD) SSO, identity management, and security configuration.
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Familiarity with SQL Server and application integration in Windows environments.
Exposure to containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and monitoring tools.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications: (If Required)

Microsoft certifications in Azure and/or Windows Server preferred but not required.

Security Clearance:

Ability to meet USCP background investigation, fingerprinting, and badging requirements and to handle sensitive law enforcement information in accordance with USCP policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting DevOps practices in federal or law enforcement organizations.
Familiarity with modern CI/CD toolchains (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
Experience working with security and compliance teams to address audit and control requirements.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment

Location: On-site at USCP facilities in Washington, DC with hybrid work; initial full on-site period, then minimum 2 days per week on-site and up to 3 days telework as approved.
Schedule: Full-time; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional off-hours and weekend support for deployments, special events, and incident response.
