Position Summary: The Toolmaker/Mold maker builds, repairs, modifies, and maintains precision tooling, molds, dies, and fixtures to meet quality and production requirements. This role uses machining skills, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement to ensure tooling accuracy, reliability, and efficient manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: Run / set -up CNC milling machines and general tool room equipment. Program with Gibbs Cam, Part Maker, and knowledge of Solidworks. Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, file, grind, shim, for form fit and function at time of assembling. Adjust different parts to properly fit for function. Build and repair Molds, jigs, fixtures, gauges. Work from blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, molds, or assemblies. Interrogate solid models and detailed prints. Critical attention to detail holding tight tolerances. Assume responsibility for quality of workmanship and dimensional accuracy of work performed. Decides on station and timing of each operation to assure efficient use of tools and time. Computes such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, and feed rates. Perform required data collection and record maintenance. The willingness to learn current mold building techniques. Clear communication with shop personnel. Time conscientious on task hours assigned. Efficient machine setups and time management. Efficient tool path strategies. Must Have: High school diploma or equivalent.
