Original job description
About Cimtech At Cimtech, workforce development is a core business strategy, not just a Human Resources initiative. For 50 years, we have delivered premier precision machining and fabrication. We are incredibly proud of our 20-year average team member tenure, which serves as the ultimate validation of our workplace culture and wage quality. As a Workforce First designated employer by the State of Indiana and Chamber of Commerce, we operate on a "Build-from-Within" philosophy, meaning we invest in your long-term career security and success. If you are looking for a place to put down roots, learn from veteran experts, and grow your career, you have found it! The Role
We are looking for an adaptable, team-oriented Utility / Production Float to join our 1st Shift operations. This role is the backbone of our operational resilience and fits directly into our Agile Staffing model. As a Float, you will participate in mandatory multifunctional cross-training, learning how to operate and support various stations across the production floor. By training teammates across departments, we ensure that a talent gap in one area can be immediately filled by existing, highly-skilled staff. You will be paired with our veteran experts through our training program, ensuring you learn the ropes from the best in the business. Our Non-Negotiable Core Values
Our business strategy relies on a "High-Skill, High-Trust" model. We do not waver on our core values: Safety: We reward proactive hazard reporting and maintaining a strict zero-incident environment. Quality of Work: We provide performance bonuses for achieving high-precision standards and reducing production waste. Being a Good Team Member: We utilize peer-nominated rewards for those who go above and beyond to support their colleagues and contribute to a positive team first culture.
Key Responsibilities
Provide reliable support across various production and machining departments as daily operational needs dictate. Actively engage in mandatory multifunctional cross-training to build your skill set across the facility. Strictly adhere to our safety standards, engaging in proactive hazard reporting to maintain a zero-incident environment. Assist in maintaining high-precision standards and reducing waste across all assigned workstations.
Go above and beyond to support your colleagues and contribute to a positive culture.
Qualifications & Skills Experience: Entry-level position; however, some prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment is required. Mindset: Eager to learn, highly adaptable, and ready to embrace a "High-Skill, High-Trust" model.
Team-First Attitude: Willingness to jump in wherever the team needs you most on any given day. Why Join the Cimtech Family? (Benefits & Perks) We recognize that a competitive wage is only effective if it isn't eroded by rising cost-of-living and healthcare expenses.
- Flextime & Work-Life BLEND: Adjust your schedule to meet family needs, attend school events, or manage personal appointments without sacrificing your career. Direct Primary Care (DPC): Unlimited access to a primary doctor with $0 co-pays or hidden fees, keeping thousands of dollars in your pocket each year. Personalized Development Plans (PDPs): Clear pathways for promotion, upskilling, and job variety as we adopt new manufacturing technologies.
