Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization providing an array of programs and services to older adults across Chicagoland.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a diligent and reliable part-time Custodian (20 hours per week), to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of our Senior Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning, minor maintenance, and tasks to ensure a professional and sanitary environment for all participants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Consistently promotes interactions and activity that reflect the Mission and Values of the organization while demonstrating and ensuring person centered customer service and participant interactions.
• Sweeping and mopping all tiled flooring including both washroom floors, activity rooms and kitchen area regularly.
• Regular dusting as needed.
• Vacuum ali carpeted flooring on first floor and Executive Director's office on 2nd floor
• Clean all spills as needed
• Collect and empty trash cans on first floor and 2nd floor office and dispose trash into dumpster daily
• Restock paper and soap supplies in first and second floor bathrooms
• Report any needs and concerns to appropriate staff in a timely manner
• The ability to manage your time efficiently and work well when the supervisor is not present.
• Communicate needs related to inventory of cleaning supplies
• Performs similar and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS and EXPERIENCE

• 2 years related experience and/or training
• On-the-job training provided
