Expediter

JOB DESCRIPTION: EXPEDITER

SUMMARY

Sets the pace and flow in the kitchen. The expediter receives the order ticket from a waiter or waitress or from a printer in the kitchen, and communicates which menu items need to be cooked to the cooking staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate with everyone in the
• Ensure all food leaving the kitchen is of the level of quality
• Make certain all plates are hot and garnished
• Make certain that every food item is accounted
• Safely store all food order tickets for later
• Fill out all required forms
• Maintain all equipment and
• Keep own work area of the kitchen
• Follow all rotation
• Label and date all products
• Follow management's instructions and
• Responsible for laying out and garnishing all the
• Makes certain that each member of the waitstaff receives the correct plates with the correct items on them.
• Ensures that every food item that leaves the kitchen has had an order ticket written for it.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
• Must be able to lift up to 50
• At least one year of restaurant kitchen

WORKING CONDITIONS

High noise levels, hot, must be able to lift 50+ pounds
