Position Title: Chemistry Lab Assistant Department: Chemistry Location: St. Joseph Hall (SJH) 547 Supervisor: Rebecca Eikey and Kaitlyn Turpin
Job Description
The Chemistry Lab Assistant supports chemistry faculty by assisting with laboratory preparation, organization, and maintenance. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting faculty with the preparation of laboratory experiments.
- Organizing and maintaining laboratory equipment and workspaces.
- Cleaning and washing scientific glassware in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Following established laboratory safety protocols and organizational standards.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Students will receive training in proper laboratory organization, equipment handling, and the cleaning and care of scientific glassware.
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to Natural Science majors.
- Availability should align with the schedules of chemistry faculty and staff.
- Students will work under direct faculty or staff supervision and will not be assigned independent laboratory duties.
