Design Assistant

Location: Park City, UT

About the Opportunity

We're recruiting for a luxury custom home builder specializing in distinctive, architecturally driven residences throughout Park City and the surrounding mountain communities.

The company takes an integrated approach to custom homebuilding, bringing architecture, interior design, and construction together under one team. Each project is thoughtfully tailored to the home's setting, architectural vision, and overall design aesthetic, with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Design Assistant to support the design team in the office. This person will help keep projects organized, coordinate materials and selections, prepare design presentations, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the custom homebuilding process.

Responsibilities

  • Support the interior design and architecture teams with design concepts, presentations, mood boards, finish schedules, and project materials.
  • Research materials, furnishings, fixtures, lighting, finishes, and products appropriate for high-end custom residences.
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital material libraries, samples, product specifications, and project files.
  • Track design selections, product orders, samples, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and trade partners to obtain product information, pricing, samples, and availability.
  • Prepare and update finish schedules, specification sheets, selection documents, and other design-related project materials.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation and help ensure approved selections and specifications are clearly communicated to the construction team.
  • Coordinate with internal design, architecture, and construction team members to keep projects organized and moving forward.
  • Provide general administrative and organizational support to the design team.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience or education in interior design, architecture, residential design, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years experience using Revit/AutoCAD
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • An interest in luxury residential design, materials, finishes, and architectural details.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate professionally with vendors and internal team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on assignments, and work collaboratively as part of a team.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate enjoys the creative side of design but is equally comfortable with the organization and coordination required to bring a project together.

You don't necessarily need to be an established interior designer, but you should have an eye for design, an appreciation for quality craftsmanship, and an interest in the details that make a luxury home exceptional.

This is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of architects, interior designers, and construction professionals while gaining exposure to the full custom homebuilding process - from initial design concepts through the finished residence.

We're looking for someone who is dependable, resourceful, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute behind the scenes to the creation of truly one-of-a-kind homes.
