Caseworker

Chenango County's Social Services Department has an openings for Caseworker positions. This is a position is responsiblefor providing professional case management services to clients and their families in order to assist them in coping with andresolving economic, emotional, social and environmental problems. The work requires the exercise of sound judgment inassessing the safety of and risk to clients and/or their families, identifying problem areas and developing and implementingan appropriate service plan. Incumbents must be able to work in stressful situations and intervene effectively in a crisissituation. A significant amount of travel using the employee's personal vehicle and the ability to be available for overtimeand on-call work is required to fulfill the duties of this position. Work is performed under the general supervision of aSenior Caseworker or Case Supervisor Grade B or another administrative entity with leeway allowed for the exercise ofindependent judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. Supervision over the work of others is not normally arequirement of employees in this class. Does related work as required.The position has a 37 1/2 hour work week and starts at $27.65 per hour in 2026, and includes a full benefitspackage. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications:Possession of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
