Original job description

The Environmental & Occupational Health Lead serves as the VA MDE program's premier clinical authority on toxic exposure, environmental hazards, and occupational health–related disability conditions. Leveraging deep expertise in Preventive and Occupational Medicine, they guide and oversee all examiners conducting environmental exposure related evaluations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to VA standards. This leader safeguards exam quality in highly scrutinized PACT Act domains - including Agent Orange, burn pits, contaminated water, industrial toxins, and airborne hazards - while advancing best practices across the provider network. Their oversight ensures veterans receive scientifically sound, legally defensible evaluations that withstand VA adjudication and appellate review. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
