Original job description
This position is in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)'s Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE). PIEE is a mission critical federal procurement platform with a substantial Java/Oracle and WebSphere family heritage that has been migrated to AWS GovCloud and is being incrementally modernized through containers, microservices, cloud native services, and DevSecOps. PIEE is hosted in AWS GovCloud at DoD Impact Levels 4 and 5 and operates through DISA cloud access and security architecture requirements.
The target direction is increased use of cloud native capabilities, Infrastructure as Code, containers, microservices, automation, and cost/performance optimization.
This AWS Chief Architect position will lead enterprise architecture and technical governance for PIEE sustainment and modernization. The position establishes the technical baseline and target state, aligns application, data, integration, cloud, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps decisions, and guides reduction of technical debt.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
