Packer

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Packer is responsible for packing finished siding and accessory products at the Jackson Plant. This role requires strict adherence to all plant Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping standards. Work Schedule: This position is on the night shift working 12-hour rotating shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a 2-2-3 schedule. This includes working some weekends. Starting pay rate: $19.00/hr with $1.00/hr shift premium. 80% - Pack vinyl siding panels after cut off from extrusion process, follow nesting pattern and quality requirements - Set up packing table and glue table during line startups & changeovers - Handling hot vinyl sheet through equipment during line start ups - Ensure the safety, quality, housekeeping, for the assigned areas as directed by the Production Shift Leader - Cut packing straps to length for boxes - Assemble and glue boxes - Visually inspect each siding panel for color or other visual defects - Monitor hot glue levels, restock as needed - Label and number packing boxes - Load siding boxes onto skid - Strap skids to prepare for removal to warehouse - Perform line housekeeping duties 10% - Assist operator with line set-up, including stringing the line - Inform operator or Area Lead of any visual defects or problems before scrapping product 5% - Train other packers as needed - Perform housekeeping duties - Perform other duties as assigned Special Instructions or Work Requirements: Typical weight lifting requirements: 50lbs
