Operator I

Under the supervision of the Production Shift Leader, the Operator I role is responsible for supporting safe operation of PVC extrusion lines and producing quality products within established specifications. This role focuses on foundational skills, adherence to procedures, and learning the extrusion process. Responsible for operating and monitoring the automated vinyl and accessory extruders, tooling, and downstream equipment. ****Work Schedule: *********This position is on the night shift working 12-hour rotating shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a 2-2-3 schedule. This includes working some weekends. Starting pay rate: $21.00/hr with $1.00/hr shift premium.***** 80% - Responsible for ensuring safety, quality, housekeeping, 5S and KOI performance for the assigned line or area as directed by the Production Shift Leader - Follow all safety policies and procedures; maintain a clean and organized work area (5S) - Conduct line start-up and shutdown activities and color changes under supervision of senior level Operator, Area Lead or Production Supervisor - Ensure correct materials are used - Perform basic quality checks as instructed - Color/Gloss/length/edge cut/thickness/warp/lock/visual wall check/product code/stretch/panel weight - Monitor line operation and report abnormalities - Input basic production data into MES (Factory+) system - Basic LOTO of industrial equipment - Submit work orders - Perform adjustments to extrusion equipment and tooling to maintain quality specifications, clean and assemble tooling as needed, perform adjustments to line - Process shift reports for tracking scrap rates, color change performance, etc. - Complete work requests for maintenance repairs on the extrusion line - Basic Troubleshooting of production line - Demonstrates good communication skills between line packers, Operators, Area Lead and Production Shift Leader 20% - Pack panels and accessories according to standards, maintaining packaging quality standards - Relieve packers for breaks as needed - Assist other operators and packers with line issues - Perform other duties as assigned Special Instructions or Work Requirements: Typical Weight Lifting Requirement 50lbs
