The Medical Assistant is an essential member of the CenterWell Primary Care team, supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This position combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to promote efficient clinic operations, positive patient experiences, and improved health outcomes.

The Medical Assistant performs a range of clinical support activities, coordinates patient care tasks, and contributes to preventive health and chronic disease management initiatives. The role requires demonstrated proficiency in core clinical responsibilities, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize assigned work with limited direction while following established clinical protocols and safety standards.

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, diagnostic screenings, medication or vaccine administration, and other authorized clinical tasks only when permitted by state law, organizational policy, provider delegation, training, and verified competency.
Accurately document patient information and clinical activities in the electronic health record (EHR).
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other care team members to coordinate patient visits, referrals, follow-up activities, and communication.
Support preventive screenings, chronic condition management, care gap identification, and quality improvement initiatives within the assigned role.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms; clean and sterilize equipment; manage supplies; and follow infection prevention and safety procedures.
Deliver compassionate, professional, culturally responsive patient interactions and reinforce provider-directed education within authorized scope.
Organize and prioritize daily clinical and administrative assignments to support patient flow and clinic operations.
Follow confidentiality requirements, documented clinical protocols, and applicable regulations; communicate patient concerns promptly to licensed clinical staff.
Contribute to team collaboration and continuous workflow improvement.

Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills; ability to follow clinical instructions and work with limited day-to-day direction.
This role is patient facing and is part of the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
