Position Profile

The merchandiser is an entry-level position that rides along with a driver to retail customer locations. The basic job function is to carry product into the store and validate inventory counts against delivery documentation. This position does not operate the delivery vehicle and does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL

Essential Duties

• Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures.
• Ride along with the delivery driver to retail customer locations along the assigned route
• Carry boxes and cases of product from the delivery vehicle into the retail customer location
• Verify and validate inventory against delivery invoices and bills of lading (BOL) at each stop
• Note damaged, short, or over product; record and photograph as needed
• Maintain good housekeeping standards with focus on the care and custody of materials
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED ​

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to operate a pallet jack and hand truck
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move boxes and cases of product, up to approximately 50 lbs, for extended periods

Working Environment

This position works in and around retail customer locations and a delivery vehicle, with outdoor exposure during the workday while traveling between stops. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks. There may be exposure to extreme weather conditions (wind, rain, ice, snow, and temperature variations), with frequent walking, bending, and lifting, as well as extended periods of riding in a delivery vehicle.
