Mechanical Engineer; Memphis, TN

Mechanical Design Engineer - We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in building systems design to support a variety of commercial and institutional projects. This role will focus on the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, aviation, government, hospitality, and institutional projects.
• Develop HVAC designs, including heating and cooling systems, ventilation, air distribution, and equipment layouts.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment sizing, and mechanical system analysis.
• Prepare mechanical construction documents, including equipment schedules, ductwork layouts, piping plans, and system details.
• Develop and coordinate mechanical drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Assist with equipment selection, specifications, and mechanical design narratives.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and internal electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural engineering teams.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, energy codes, and industry standards.
• Support construction administration through submittal reviews, drawing revisions, site inspections, and field troubleshooting.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and contribute to design standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, and building infrastructure.
• Experience with load calculations, equipment sizing, and mechanical design software.
