About the Job I need a night babysitter for my one, almost 2-year-old. It's a little bit of a complicated situation. I am a caretaker for my mother with cancer, while attending school and working full time. Watching a 2-year-old is tough for my mother, she tries her best to help since she is home. I need help specifically with feeding my toddler and putting him to bed. You have to be comfortable with another adult in the vicinity(my mother). You are not required to do anything for her, my son will interact with her, you are welcome to interact as much as you are comfortable.
There are other adults in the house, a range of step siblings and my siblings. They come and go from jobs and school. We have an older, friendly husky and cats that stay downstairs.
We are not a religious family necessarily , no judgement on it, but we do swear and there may be shows on that fluctuate ratings. My mother has cancer. Some days are worse than others. She currently lives in a hospital bed in the living room and is monitored on cameras. She has little to no privacy at the moment, some sensitivity to real life is appreciated. We're muddling through what we can.
My kiddo loves Bluey, Bear in the big blue house, Wish, and studio Ghibli movies. He loves coloring and stacking anything within reach. He will play all night if you let him!
We're working on identifying anything and everything. We use a few sign language gestures, mom and baby are learning together. Actively talking with him and encouraging speech whenever possible is appreciated.
We're unlearning older ways of parenting. A Montessori approach, not passive, is what we're looking for. Even just basics of validating big feelings, encouraging play with actions and consequences.
It's a close neighborhood, with my vehicle gone, driveway parking is available.
We have a husky named Demon, he's owned by one of my step siblings. Demon is very vocal but very friendly. He's a big boy. My step sisters has cats she keeps downstairs.
