About the Job We have three special needs kiddos ages 16, 13, & 11. Two are diagnosed with high-functioning autism, and the third is being tested. They are self sufficient and mainstreamed at school. Most days, the schedule will feel the same as caring for any other child.
However, there will be some days, when it wont be as easy. If youve cared for autistic children, even high functioning ones, then you know exactly what we mean.
We need someone patient, reliable, and kind. Someone tolerant. Every day will not be easy, but building a special relationship with these kids will be.
We need someone who can help with periodic transportation, housework, cooking, and the occasional overnight (paid).
Mostly, we need help maintaining a culture of routine and calmness.
