Original job description
About the Job Looking for an experienced, in-person tutor for my 12-year-old middle school son, specifically focused on reading comprehension.
He reads fluently and does not need help learning how to read. His challenge is understanding and retaining what he reads and applying that understanding independently.
I’m looking for someone who can teach strategies for identifying main ideas and supporting details, summarizing in his own words, making inferences, using text evidence, and understanding what questions are asking.
This is not primarily homework help. My goal is for him to develop comprehension strategies he can eventually use independently.
Prefer a middle school ELA teacher, reading/literacy specialist, or educator experienced with grades 6–8.
Looking for in-person, one-on-one instruction in the North Raleigh/Wake Forest area.Job basics How often: Part timeHourly rate: $22.00 - $27.00/hourWho we're looking for
