Requirements:
- Experience tutoring elementary school students, preferably grades 2–4.
- Ability to teach both ELA and Math.
- Patient, encouraging, and able to explain concepts in different ways.
- Experience working with children who need extra academic support.
- Able to provide one-on-one, in-home tutoring.
- References preferred.
looking for a patient, caring tutor with experience teaching elementary school students, especially children in 3rd grade. The tutor should be able to help with English Language Arts (ELA) and Math, including reading comprehension, spelling, writing, multiplication, and basic math skills. They should be able to explain lessons step by step, use fun and engaging activities, and adjust their teaching style to Bella’s needs. Experience helping children who struggle academically is a plus. Most importantly, I want someone encouraging who will help my daughter learn at her own pace and build her confidence.
The student is my 8-year-old daughter, who is in 3rd grade. She is struggling with English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. She needs help with reading comprehension, spelling, writing, understanding math concepts, and remembering what she has learned. She sometimes gets frustrated when she doesn’t understand the work, so I’m looking for a patient, encouraging tutor who can teach at her pace, strengthen her foundational skills, and help her build confidence.
My daughter learns best with patience, encouragement, and hands-on activities. She benefits from simple, step-by-step explanations, visual examples, repetition, and practicing together until she understands. She needs a tutor who makes learning fun, takes breaks when needed, and helps her feel comfortable asking questions without feeling pressured or discouraged.
Choose in person because Bella is struggling with ELA and Math and may benefit from having someone sit beside her, explain things step by step, and practice with her.
