Original job description

Help prevent domestic violence and sexual abuse before it starts in Franklin and Bear Lake Counties, Idaho. As CAPSA's Community Engagement Educator, you'll teach prevention, build partnerships, and be CAPSA's visible, trusted face in the communities you serve.

CAPSA is a nonprofit providing confidential support to individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse across Cache Valley and the Bear Lake area. Alongside our response services, we work with youth and the community to reduce violence before it starts.

What you'll do

This role combines prevention education, community outreach, civic engagement, and relationship-building. You'll work directly with youth, adults, businesses, schools, community organizations, and local leaders.

  • Deliver engaging prevention education, awareness presentations, and trainings to youth, adults, businesses, schools, and community groups.
  • Represent CAPSA at community events, outreach opportunities, civic and coalition meetings, and other gatherings throughout Franklin and Bear Lake Counties.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, financial institutions, community organizations, civic leaders, and other local partners.
  • Take part in Chambers of Commerce, coalitions, and other community groups to strengthen CAPSA's visibility and partnerships.
  • Coordinate and support CAPSA's participation in community events, awareness initiatives, and prevention campaigns.
  • Help establish and support a CAPSA Youth Council, creating real opportunities for youth leadership, civic engagement, and prevention involvement.
  • Support the Idaho Advisory Board through communication, coordination, relationship-building, and community connections.
  • Support development efforts: donor and community engagement activities, fundraising and awareness events, and spotting opportunities for partnerships and community support.
  • Manage event and training logistics, materials, scheduling, communication, and follow-up.
  • Track program participation, training and presentation hours, community engagement, and other outcomes for program and grant goals.
  • Keep communication, documentation, scheduling, and follow-up timely across multiple projects.

Who thrives here

You're organized, creative, comfortable speaking in front of groups, and energized by connecting with people. You enjoy building relationships, coordinating moving parts, taking part in community life, and creating engaging experiences that connect people to prevention and to CAPSA's mission. You plan independently and keep many kinds of work moving at once, from presentations and events to youth programming and long-term community projects.

Schedule is flexible to meet community needs, including occasional evening and weekend events.

Why CAPSA?

Your impact shows up at both the individual and community level. You might lead a conversation about healthy relationships, help a young person find their voice through Youth Council, build a new partnership, or bring neighbors together around a shared goal. Each one helps create safer, healthier communities.

If you're motivated by purpose-driven work and want to see the impact of your work across the community, we'd love to hear from you.
