Original job description

About the Role:

We build what healthcare runs on: the workstations, carts, and equipment clinicians rely on every shift. We are looking for a senior electrical engineer who leads through technical judgment, brings new ideas forward, and raises the bar for how we design and validate hardware. You will own the direction of power systems across our products, including batteries, power supplies, UPS, and integrated power solutions, working with suppliers and value-added integrators to bring better solutions to market faster. You will also review designs across the team, guide lab testing, and help shape where our electrical platforms go next.

Position Details:

  • This is an on-site position in Portland, Oregon.
  • Relocation assistance is not available.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, key responsibilities include:

  • Lead power system engineering across our product lines, including battery, power supply, and UPS architecture, and drive the selection and qualification of suppliers and value-added integrators.
  • Bring new technologies and approaches forward, build rapid prototypes to prove them out, and turn the strongest ideas into product.
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts from internal engineers and external partners, and set the technical standard for design quality.
  • Define test strategies and acceptance criteria, direct the lab technician's verification work, and use the data to drive decisions.
  • Guide designs through safety and EMC certification with test labs.
  • Mentor engineers, communicate risks and recommendations clearly to leadership, and partner with mechanical, firmware, quality, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of electrical hardware development, including products taken from concept to production.
  • Strong mixed-signal circuit design and hands-on lab test, prototyping, and debug skills.
  • Experience bringing products through safety and EMC certification (UL, IEC, or similar).
  • Working proficiency with an ECAD tool for schematic and layout review.
  • Clear, direct communication with engineers, suppliers, and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lithium battery systems, AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, or UPS integration.
  • Experience qualifying suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with medical or other regulated products.
