We're known for keeping operations moving efficiently and we're looking for talented individuals to join our team!
The Role Capital Pump and Equipment is hiring Pump Watch Operators for our bypass pumping operations throughout Texas. Pump Watch personnel keep the whole bypass system running safely and efficiently while sewer and water infrastructure is being repaired or replaced. If you're dependable, observant, and comfortable working hands-on with heavy equipment, we'd like to hear from you.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay with opportunities for overtime and growth.
- Supportive, performance-driven team culture.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Medical, dental, and vision (eligible after 30 days).
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid holidays and PTO.
- Company-paid Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance.
- Ongoing training and career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate the entire bypass pumping system safely and efficiently throughout your shift.
- Track pump RPMs and adjust operating speed to meet each site's flow requirements.
- Clean and "de-rag" pumps as needed, typically about once per hour.
- Watch for pump cavitation and adjust pump speed to reduce it and prevent damage to equipment.
- Visually inspect the water or sewer level in the suction manhole and keep it at the level set with your supervisor before operation begins.
- Report on equipment problems, abnormal conditions, and safety concerns to your supervisor right away.
- Follow all site safety procedures and company policies.
What You'll Bring
- Mechanical aptitude, and comfort working around pumps, engines, and hoses.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay alert over long shifts.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and around wastewater.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work on your own.
- Clear communication with supervisors and crew.
- Able to lift 50 lbs., stand and walk for long periods, and bend, kneel, and climb.
- Reliable transportation to job sites and willingness to travel as needed.
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts on days or nights.
- Prior pump, bypass, or wastewater experience is a plus. We'll train the right candidate.
