Original job description

Leveraging Liaison / Client Care Associate Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists | Buzzards Bay, MA Part time Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is looking for a veterinary professional who enjoys helping clients understand their pet’s care and keeping the details organized along the way. This position combines shifts supporting our Emergency and Critical Care medical team as a Leveraging Liaison with shifts at the front desk as a Client Care Associate. You’ll use your veterinary experience in both roles, working with clients, doctors, nurses, and referring hospitals to keep information clear and patient visits coordinated. About the Role Leveraging Liaison Working closely with the triage doctor, you’ll coordinate client updates, review estimates, assist with discharge instructions, and communicate with referring veterinarians. Your support helps doctors focus on diagnosis and treatment while clients stay informed about their pet’s care and next steps. Client Care Associate You’ll welcome clients, coordinate appointments, manage phone calls and records, and process payments. This portion of the role focuses on client service and administrative support rather than direct animal care. What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate communication between clients, the medical team, and referring hospitals.
  • Help organize patient visits and keep clients updated during wait times.
  • Review treatment estimates, deposits, and payment options with clients.
  • Review discharge instructions as directed by the doctor.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage client check-in and check-out, phone calls, appointment scheduling, and data entry.
  • Work with colleagues to address questions and changing needs throughout the day.

What We’re Looking For

  • Customer service experience.
  • At least two years of experience in a veterinary hospital as a technician, liaison, or client service representative; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Clear, respectful communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfort discussing estimates and financial arrangements with care and discretion.
  • Computer skills and the ability to learn veterinary software.
  • Accuracy with basic calculations, payments, and records.
  • Organization and the ability to adjust priorities in a busy hospital.
  • A considerate approach to clients who may be worried about their pets or facing difficult decisions.

Experience with ezyVet, SmartFlow, or CareCredit is helpful but not required. Schedule

  • Part-time schedule is fewer than 30 hours per week.
  • Schedules include a combination of liaison and client care shifts, with day and swing hours, one weekend shift each week, and a holiday rotation.
  • The initial training schedule may differ.

Compensation and Benefits The pay range is $22–$24 per hour, based on relevant experience, skills, credentials, and internal equity. Most new hires can expect an offer between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Benefits and team resources for full time include:

  • Paid time off and holiday pay
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options
  • FSA or HSA options
  • Short- and long-term disability options
  • 401(k)
  • Continuing education program
  • Training and skill advancement
  • Uniform allowance
  • Trupanion pet insurance with company-paid premiums for two team member pets
  • On-site Veterinary Social Worker
  • Employee Assistance Program

Working at CCVS At an emergency and specialty hospital, clients often have questions, concerns, and a lot of information to take in. Having someone explain the next step, follow up on a question, or help coordinate a discharge can make their visit easier. If you enjoy that part of veterinary medicine and want a role that combines client relationships with medical team support, we’d welcome the chance to talk with you. Learn more about CCVS.
