This position oversees engine maintenance planning, shop visit execution, reliability performance, cost management, contractual obligations, technical compliance, and long-term asset planning to maximize engine performance, availability, and value.

Serving as a key liaison between internal departments and external partners, the Powerplant Programs Manager works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, Procurement, OEMs, MRO providers, airlines, lessors, and other industry stakeholders. This role ensures engine programs are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, contractual commitments, and business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings extensive commercial engine experience, strong financial and analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage complex, high-value engine programs while balancing technical requirements, operational priorities, and long-term business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Powerplant Program Management: Lead the overall management of Trent 700 engine programs, including maintenance strategies, lifecycle planning, performance monitoring, and asset management.
  • Engine Maintenance & Shop Visit Oversight: Manage engine shop visits from initial planning through completion, including work scope development, technical findings, cost estimates, turnaround times, and return-to-service requirements.
  • Technical & Reliability Management: Monitor engine performance, reliability trends, maintenance events, and technical issues. Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce operational disruptions, and optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Financial & Cost Management: Develop and monitor engine maintenance budgets, evaluate shop visit costs, analyze financial exposure, and identify opportunities to control expenses and maximize asset value.
  • Contract & Vendor Management: Oversee contractual obligations and commercial relationships with OEMs, MRO providers, airlines, lessors, and other service partners. Monitor vendor performance, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure contractual commitments are met.
  • Technical Records & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure engine configuration, life-limited part (LLP) status, technical records, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and other regulatory and airworthiness requirements are properly managed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders to align engine program activities with operational and financial objectives.
  • Fleet & Asset Planning: Support long-term engine planning, forecasting, maintenance reserves, asset utilization, and lifecycle decisions to maximize the performance and economic value of the engine portfolio.
  • Project & Event Management: Manage multiple concurrent engine events, maintenance activities, and strategic initiatives while maintaining visibility into schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent aviation industry experience may be considered.
  • 7–10+ years of progressively responsible experience in aircraft engine programs, commercial aviation maintenance, or a related aviation technical field.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial turbofan engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engine shop visits, maintenance work scopes, technical findings, cost estimates, and MRO performance.
  • Working knowledge of Life-Limited Parts (LLPs), engine configuration management, technical records, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with maintenance cost forecasting, budget management, and commercial negotiations.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex, high-value engine events simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and commercial teams.
