The Opportunity:

Join our team supporting USTRANSCOM's Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS), a mission-critical enterprise platform that modernizes transportation, logistics, and financial operations through SAP S/4HANA ERP integration. We are looking for an accomplished Section 508 Compliance Test Engineer to lead and execute hands-on accessibility testing across JTMS applications, including SAP Fiori and integrated web-based solutions. This role is responsible for validating conformance with Section 508 accessibility requirements and applicable Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), identifying barriers for users with disabilities, documenting compliance findings, and verifying remediation. The tester will work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, UX teams, and other testers to ensure accessibility is incorporated throughout the SAFe Agile development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Section 508 Requirements Analysis: Review user stories, designs, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria to identify applicable Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements and develop accessibility-focused test scenarios.
  • Accessibility Test Development: Design, build, and maintain manual and automated Section 508 test cases for SAP Fiori, web applications, forms, reports, documents, workflows, and integrated JTMS capabilities.
  • Section 508 Compliance Testing: Execute accessibility testing against applicable Section 508 and WCAG success criteria, including keyboard-only navigation, focus order and visibility, labels and instructions, headings and structure, tables, forms, error handling, color contrast, non-text content, reflow, zoom, and screen-reader compatibility.
  • Accessibility Defect Management: Document Section 508/accessibility defects with the applicable requirement or WCAG criterion, severity, reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and remediation guidance; track findings through closure and retest corrected functionality.
  • Assistive Technology Testing: Validate application behavior using screen readers and other assistive technologies, including JAWS and NVDA where applicable, and verify that SAP Fiori and web-based functionality can be effectively operated without a mouse.
  • Compliance Documentation and Reporting: Maintain Section 508 test cases, test results, traceability, defect evidence, remediation status, and accessibility compliance reports to support release decisions and government accessibility reviews.
  • Agile Accessibility Integration: Participate in sprint planning, refinement, demonstrations, retrospectives, and other SAFe Agile ceremonies to ensure Section 508 requirements and accessibility acceptance criteria are addressed early in the development lifecycle.
  • Continuous Compliance Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve Section 508 testing processes, reusable accessibility test assets, automated scanning, developer feedback, and accessibility quality practices across JTMS.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance (required)

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in software testing, including demonstrated hands-on Section 508/accessibility compliance testing of enterprise web applications or large-scale information systems.
  • Section 508 / WCAG Expertise: Proven experience interpreting and testing against Section 508 accessibility requirements and WCAG success criteria. Ability to identify accessibility barriers, map findings to applicable criteria, recommend remediation, and verify corrective actions.
