Original job description

Sales Development Representative (SDR) C2 Essentials, Inc. | Ashburn, VA | Full-Time | On-Site About C2 Essentials Businesses need time to grow, lead their teams, and serve their customers. C2 Essentials helps make that possible. Since 1996, we have supported businesses nationwide with outsourced human resources, payroll, benefits administration, tax, and compliance services. Our clients include federal contractors, professional services firms, technology companies, and other organizations that rely on C2 to help manage the responsibilities of being an employer.

The Opportunity We’re looking for motivated, coachable professionals who communicate confidently, take initiative, and want to build a career in sales. As a Sales Development Representative at C2, you’ll start conversations with business decision-makers, uncover their needs, and create qualified opportunities for our business development team. You’ll play a direct role in building our sales pipeline, with clear goals and a performance bonus tied to meetings that prospects actually attend. Our sales team provides your prospect lists. You’ll use AI-powered sales tools and our CRM to support dialing, objection handling, and follow-up. With those resources in place, your focus will be on engaging prospects, qualifying interest, and securing meaningful conversations for the sales team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Generate qualified meetings through outbound calls, personalized emails, and LinkedIn outreach using sales-provided prospect lists.
Connect with business owners, executives, and HR and finance leaders to introduce C2’s services.
Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand business challenges, current arrangements, and interest in HR outsourcing.
Handle objections thoughtfully and communicate how C2’s services can address a prospect’s needs.
Schedule discovery meetings with our business development team and provide clear qualification notes for each handoff.
Confirm appointments and follow up consistently to support prospect attendance.
Use AI-powered sales tools to support dialing, objection handling, and outreach productivity.
Manage contact records, outreach activity, and next steps in the CRM.
Collaborate with sales and marketing to strengthen messaging and improve results.
Meet established goals for outreach activity, qualified meetings, and pipeline development.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
A strong communicator: You speak clearly and confidently, write professionally, and know how to connect with people.
Comfortable juggling priorities and managing your time in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated: You take initiative, follow through, and hold yourself accountable for results.
Coachable: You’re open to feedback and eager to get better every day.
Curious: You ask thoughtful questions and want to understand how businesses operate.
Collaborative: You share insights and work closely with teammates to create opportunities.
Persistent: You’re comfortable making outbound calls, working through objections, and maintaining consistent follow-up. Experience in sales development, inside sales, appointment setting, or B2B sales is a plus, as is familiarity with CRM platforms, AI-powered sales tools, or HR outsourcing.

Compensation and Benefits The annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is $55,000–$60,000, inclusive of a $40,000–$45,000 base salary and performance-based incentive compensation. Base salary will depend on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The performance incentive is $625 per semi-monthly pay period when at least 10 qualified meetings are attended by prospects. Achieving this target in all 24 pay periods provides $15,000 in annual incentive compensation. C2 offers medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; short-term and long-term disability coverage; and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.

Why C2 Essentials? At C2, you’ll represent services that help business leaders solve practical challenges affecting their people and operations. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, develop your sales skills, and contribute directly to new business growth. We value initiative, professionalism, teamwork, and follow-through. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of your performance, use modern sales tools, and earn additional compensation for the results you deliver.

A Few Logistics

This position is full-time and on-site at our One Loudoun office in Ashburn, Virginia.
Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Prospect lists are provided by the sales team.
CRM and AI-powered sales tools are provided to support outreach and follow-up. If you’re motivated by clear goals, enjoy connecting with people, and are ready to contribute to a growing sales pipeline, we’d like to hear from you.

C2 Essentials, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
