This role will design and implement molecular and genomic assays, develop automated NGS library preparation workflows using liquid handling platforms, and support IND/CTA regulatory submissions. Working cross-functionally with the off-target biology team, this role will apply expertise in primer/probe design, amplicon and hybrid-capture sequencing, and structural variant detection across primary cells, iPSCs, and in vivo samples.
Duties and Responsibilities:
It is everyone’s responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress.
- Build and onboard molecular and genomic assays to characterize genomic safety of next-gen template-based editing technologies.
- Skilled in molecular biology techniques including primer/probe design for Amplicon sequencing, digital PCR and cloning to support NGS assay development.
- Experience designing and validating NGS-based assays (e.g., targeted amplicon and hybrid-capture sequencing) for off-target and structural variant detection.
- Proven ability to automate and scale NGS library preparation and molecular biology workflows using liquid handling platforms (Agilent Bravo, Biomek FXP, Hamilton) across primary cells, iPSCs, and in vivo samples.
- Work in a highly cross-functional set-up to deliver genomic safety assessments in an agile and timely fashion.
- Work with the head of the off-target biology team to develop novel assays that characterize genomic safety across gene editing modalities.
