SAP Technical Lead

Role Purpose Statement

Lead the SAP Technical organization by defining technology strategy, architecture standards, and delivery governance across SAP BI BW, ABAP, Security, Master Data Governance (MDG), and enterprise SAP platforms. Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership, driving large-scale SAP transformation, modernization, integration, and optimization programs while ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing SAP solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

Main Accountabilities

• Lead enterprise-wide SAP technical delivery across SAP BI BW, ABAP, Security, MDG, and related platforms.
• Define and govern SAP technical architecture, development standards, integration frameworks, and solution roadmaps.
• Drive SAP implementation, upgrade, migration, enhancement, and transformation initiatives, including SAP ECC and S 4HANA programs.
• Provide technical leadership for SAP development, reporting, data management, integration, and security solutions.
• Oversee SAP landscape management, performance optimization, system reliability, and technical governance.
• Lead master data governance initiatives to improve data quality, consistency, and business process effectiveness.
• Ensure robust SAP security architecture, authorization design, compliance controls, and risk mitigation frameworks.
• Partner with business stakeholders and functional leaders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Govern technical design reviews, development quality, testing standards, deployment processes, and operational support.
• Drive cross-functional integrations across SAP and non-SAP applications, middleware, reporting, and data platforms.
• Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across SAP technical environments.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships, technical teams, delivery partners, and SAP technology roadmaps.
• Mentor technical architects, consultants, developers, and support teams while building organizational capability and succession plans.
• Support audit, compliance, cybersecurity, and enterprise governance requirements.

• SAP BI BW: Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, ETL, Reporting & Analytics, BW on HANA, Enterprise Reporting Architecture.
• SAP ABAP: Object-Oriented ABAP, Enhancements, RICEF Objects, Interfaces, Forms, Reports, Performance Optimization, Technical Design.
• SAP Security & GRC: Authorization Design, Role Management, GRC Access Control, Segregation of Duties (SoD), Audit & Compliance.
• SAP MDG: Business Partner, Material Master, Finance Domains, Workflow, Data Governance, Data Quality Management, DRF, BRF+.
• SAP Integration: SAP and Non-SAP Integrations, APIs, Middleware, IDocs, RFCs, Enterprise Application Integration.
• SAP ECC & S 4HANA: Landscape Management, Technical Architecture, Upgrades, Migrations, and Transformation Programs.
• Technical Governance: Development Standards, Release Management, Change Management, Testing & Quality Assurance.
• Performance & Operations: System Optimization, Troubleshooting, Capacity Planning, Operational Excellence, and Support Governance.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree (MBA MS or equivalent) preferred.
• 20+ years of SAP technical consulting, architecture, and leadership experience.
• Extensive experience across SAP BI BW, ABAP Development, SAP Security, and SAP MDG platforms.
• Proven track record leading large-scale SAP implementation, upgrade, migration, support, and transformation programs.
• Strong experience in SAP ECC landscapes with exposure to SAP S 4HANA transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing global technical delivery teams, SAP Centers of Excellence (CoE), and strategic vendor partnerships.
• SAP certifications in BW, ABAP, Security, MDG, or SAP Technology platforms are desirable.
