Laundry Attendant

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center is looking for a Laundry Attendant to join the team! Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, your role is to support hotel operations by ensuring linens, towels, and other laundry items are cleaned, processed, and distributed efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties:

• Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items.
• Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or excessive wear, and remove or report items as needed.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels by delivering clean linens and uniforms to designated storage areas.
• Collect and transport soiled linens from guest floors and designated collection points.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow established cleaning procedures, chemical handling guidelines, safety protocols, and all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards to the appropriate department.
• Role may require the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, push or pull heavy laundry carts, bend, reach, stoop, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Specific Requirements of this role:

• Process hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items according to established quality standards.
• Sort laundry by type, color, fabric, and washing requirements.
• Monitor laundry equipment to ensure proper operation and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate inventory and organization of clean linens and uniforms.
• Safely handle and store laundry chemicals in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
• Assist with linen distribution to housekeeping closets and designated hotel departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry facility at all times.
• Follow established procedures for handling damaged or lost linens and uniforms.
• Support housekeeping and other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in commercial laundry, housekeeping, hotel laundry, or a similar role preferred.
• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, quality, and guest satisfaction.
• Able to provide a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor to guests and staff at all times.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
