Building Inspector - 90 Day

JOB TITLE: BUILDING INSPECTOR (SCHEDULE G UP TO 19.5 HOURS PER WEEK)

DEPARTMENT: BUILDING AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT

SALARY: $160.00 - $165.00 PER DAY

DATE AVAILABLE: ASAP

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

This individual must be a certified as a Local Building Inspector in accordance with the provisions of 780 CMR (Massachusetts State Building Code). These certifications must be maintained throughout their employment with the Town of Braintree. At least five (5) years experience in the supervision of building construction or design or in the alternative a two year associates degree in a field related to building construction or design, or any combination of education and experience which would confer equivalent knowledge and ability. Experience in a municipal setting preferred. Massachusetts Driver’s License and ability to utilize personal motor vehicle during work hours.

Physical Requirements:

Minimal physical effort is required to perform administrative duties; moderate physical effort is required to perform field work. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, speak and hear, reach with hands and arms, use hands to operate equipment, stoop and bend; must be able to access all areas of a property or business. Vision requirements include the ability to read and analyze documents and measuring devices, use a computer and operate a motor vehicle. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, in conjunction with performing duties of Weights & Measures.
