Overview

Systems Engineer:

Bowhead is seeking a Systems Engineer for an upcoming effort in Patuxent River, MD. The Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership in identifying, developing, designing, and testing solutions to complex engineering problems involving computer and computer-related equipment. This position will apply advanced systems engineering methods and tools to support the development, integration, and testing of complex military systems and airborne platforms.

Responsibilities

• Identify, formulate, and develop solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Apply systems engineering methodologies and tools to support advanced system development.
• Research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and computer-related equipment.
• Support engineering development activities involving complex military systems.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on engineering projects.
• Support the manufacturing and installation of computer-related equipment and components.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of engineering team members.
• Track project progress and participate in project planning, resource allocation, and event coordination.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited college or university.
• A Bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline plus four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the Master's degree, requiring 14 total years of experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience (14 years when using the degree substitution).
• At least 3 years of experience directly related to airborne systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the applicable engineering discipline.
• Experience applying systems engineering principles to complex hardware systems.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

Target salary is $ 125,000 - $175,000 commensurate with experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibilty. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
