Original job description
Position Title: Instrumentation/Electrical Engineer
Instrumentation is the gap this engineering team needs filled, and the Instrumentation/Electrical Engineer who fills it will work on projects that range from a 69kV power infrastructure upgrade to an ammunition plant electrical build and a 138kV-to-480V chemical plant power study. The work is brownfield-heavy and engineering-focused. Equipment specs arrive, and the engineer determines how to get the right gear connected, from switchgear installs to outside-battery-limits work.
The role is office-based in Beaumont, Texas, with day trips to see existing equipment and travel that rarely exceeds a week and is unlikely to occur more than once a quarter. Estimating tools and practices are already established, and large projects are on the horizon. The department head supports engineers working toward a PE and expects that milestone within about one to two years for the right person. Some schedule flexibility exists, including the possibility of 4x10s.
Salary Range: $95,680 - $145,600 / Year DOE
Instrumentation/Electrical Engineer Responsibilities
- Provide instrumentation engineering support across a varied project load, with a strong emphasis on brownfield work
- Review equipment specifications and determine how to connect the required equipment to existing systems
- Support switchgear and equipment installations, including outside-battery-limits scopes
- Contribute to front-end planning for clients, including obtaining quotes and supplying cable lengths, tray lengths, and other measurements

- Willingness to work onsite in Beaumont, Texas, with occasional day trips and infrequent travel
- Professional Engineer license is not required, though it is valued; a mid-career engineer who has passed the FE exam and wants to pursue a PE will be supported toward licensure
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with several medical plan options including an HSA option
