Co-Op Migrant Tutor

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Co-Op Migrant Tutor. This part-time position is designed for individuals who are committed to supporting the educational needs of migrant students across the district. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, and educators to provide academic assistance, cultural enrichment, and mentorship to enhance the learning experience of migrant youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small group tutoring sessions to migrant students in various subjects, focusing on their specific academic needs.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that are culturally relevant and tailored to the diverse backgrounds of students.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and families, ensuring that learning goals are met.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify students in need of support and to coordinate tutoring efforts.
• Assist in the creation and distribution of educational materials and resources for students and families.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge of migrant education.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any additional support provided.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and to address any concerns.
